Marathon Man Gary McKee has outlined the main challenge he faces when taking on 365 marathons in 365 days.
Today Gary will run the 14th of 365 marathons – one a day throughout 2022 – to raise more money for Macmillan Cancer Support and Hospice at Home West Cumbria.
He’s set his sights on raising £1 million for the two charities in a challenge that will see him rack up over 9,500 miles.
He had raised more than £30,000 before he even started his Three Six Five Challenge.
Last year he raised over £200,000 for the charities by running 100 consecutive marathons.
Gary is clear on what his biggest challenge will be while completing 365 marathons in 365 days.
“It’s probably looking after the body,” he said.
“With work on the treadmill, I will have done 10,000 in a year (from this challenge), some people won’t do that in a car.
“I will rotate footwear each day. I will have 10 pairs of shoes and the pair I wear on day one I won’t wear again until day 11. That pair I wore on the first day will then feel like a new pair when I wear them again.
“I will use an electric massager two or three times a week and make sure I look after any twinges and I have a sauna in my gym so I will use that.
“If you think positive you will get positive results.”
