Drivers are urged to only travel if necessary as police deal with a collision on the A66 and weather conditions worsen.
It is understood an X5 bus has slid off the road near the Stainmore turn-off.
Police were on the scene, on the westbound carriageway.
A statement from Eden police said: “It is snowing heavy, visibility is very poor and the wind is gusting. Please take care if travelling, slow down, be prepared for the conditions and only travel if necessary.”
