Temporary traffic light

Temporary traffic lights will be installed on the A6 at Clifton from Monday.

Work is set to be carried out to improve drainage ahead of permanent repairs in the summer.

A Cumbria County Council spokesman said: “The materials used in the permanent repair of the road surface require a warmer air and road surface temperature.”

The council’s highways service will use this opportunity to also carry out improvement works to the footway and kerbing while completing the repairs next week, he added.

The works are expected to take around 10 days to complete and anyone with concerns or queries about the work can call 0300 303 2992.
