A bowling alley will open in Workington in the summer, it has been revealed.
The new owners of Eclipse Leisure Centre, on Derwent Howe, have confirmed that there will be a new venue for the bowling alley, called Urban Strike.
They said they would be releasing more updates over the coming weeks.
Eclipse Leisure Centre closed on January 30.
The family behind it said: “We as a family have decided that after 19 years of business it is now time to close permanently.
“We like other leisure/hospitality businesses have had a few tough years trading, COVID hasn’t helped and rising costs have made it very difficult to return the significant investment needed to grow, expand and refurbish the centre.
“We’d like to say that we have been and are proud, privileged and loved serving the people of West Cumbria for all these years and thank everyone of you and your families that have frequented our establishment.”
