An exhibition showcasing the work of over 30 Cumbrian artists opens in Carlisle on Monday.

StArt’s RE/NEW Spring Arts & Crafts Exhibition will run until Saturday March 5 at The Lanes Popup in the Lanes Shopping Centre.

This will be the second exhibition from new organiser StArt, which aims to be inclusive and accessible for exhibitors and customers alike.

Submissions have been encouraged from artists and crafters at different stages in their careers, from first-time exhibitors to well-known names on the local art scene.

The work has been collected with a focus on affordability as well as quality, there is an upper limit of £350 and many items will be under £10.

Organiser Seren Shaw said: “In this exhibition we hope to showcase the amazing diversity of artistic talent that Cumbria has to offer, and to provide the public an opportunity to view and purchase some original work for themselves, thereby supporting our local artistic community.

“The theme is based around springtime, renewal and regeneration, something that we feel is more important than ever in our current situation. We aim to show how beauty can be borne from adversity.”

RE/NEW will be open at The Lanes Popup from 9am to 5.30pm every day.
