Although behind schedule, the draw for the quarter finals of the Sunday County Cup has been made.
It keeps east clubs apart from the west ones, with two games each at this stage of the competition.
All four west qualifiers are now known as Thornhill have gone through without playing their tie with JJ’s.
The weather and the early kick-off time have eventually contrived to end JJ’s interest in the competition after reaching this stage for the first time.
Curwen Park, their home pitch was unplayable for the last two Sundays because it was waterlogged.
The offer of playing on artificial turf at a neutral Allerdale venue was turned down by Thornhill so after two postponements the tie was switched to the Egremont club’s ground.
But they kick-off at 10.30am on a Sunday morning and that meant JJ’s could not raise a side.
In the quarter final to be played on March 20, Thornhill will be away to Maryport Athletic while Salterbeck entertain Northside.
It’s an either/or situation in the east of the county as they still haven’t completed their third round games.
The quarter finals will be: Lloyds No 1 Reunited or Crusaders v Scotby or Northbank 1970; Jovial Sailor or Inter Pirelli v Unisun Athletic or Brampton.
