Barrow boss Mark Cooper praised the spirit and effort of his side in a 1-0 defeat at Bristol Rovers last night.
Cooper, admitting he had to be careful about any comments he made, thought decisions by the officials had cost his side.
He said: “I’m in enough trouble so I can’t say too much but two decisions cost us the game in my opinion.
“For the sending-off, it looked like an arm on the shoulder, not a tug of the shirt and not enough to bring down a centre forward. In any case, when he went down the ball was in our goalkeeper’s hands so I don’t think it was a red card.
“We were magnificent from that point, defending our box and keeping the pitch narrow. We even hit their woodwork three times.
“Then we asked the fourth official three or four times to make a substitution and he told the referee who chose to ignore it. There was no response and they scored. I’m still waiting for an explanation.
“The players were really angry afterwards and I told them that at the end of the season we don’t want to be saying bad luck and wrong decisions have cost us. Let’s take those out of the equation.
“We are already looking forward to Saturday and the home game with Walsall.”
