A woman slipped and injured her hip while walking on a Lake District fell.

Penrith Mountain Rescue team helped a woman at Heughscar Hill, near Pooley Bridge, on Sunday.

The rescuers were alerted around midday by the North West Ambulance Service and five team members were able to drive to the casualty site, having collected a paramedic at the road head.

The injured woman, aged 58, was put on a stretcher which was placed in the team Land Rover and she was then driven to a waiting ambulance. The incident lasted two hours and 15 minutes.
