The stage production of the much-loved novel and film Kes, comes to Keswick’s Theatre by the Lake from April 6 to 30, having played to sell out audiences and rave reviews at the Octagon, Bolton.

It has been adapted for the stage by Robert Alan Evans, and features live original music by Alexandra Faye Braithwaite.

Featuring actors Jake Dunn and Harry Egan alongside singer Nishla Smith, the production is directed by award-winning director Atri Banerjee, recently listed in The Stage as one of the top 25 Theatre-makers to watch in 2022.

Praise for Kes……

★★★★ “This most iconic of British coming-of-age stories”, The Stage

★★★★ “Retains both the harsh power and intermittent, soaring, joy of the novel and film”, Manchester Evening News

★★★★ “This powerful tale unfolds with style, poise and a whole lot of heart”, Opening Night
