Carlisle have reached decisions on their new head coach for next season, and also the appointment of a youth development officer.
But the club is not yet in a position to reveal the names until final DBS clearance has been received from the RFU.
Once this administrative process has been completed, details will be released.
A club statement said the new head coach is from South Africa and he has a broad experience of coaching to a high level. He will replace Matt Shields in the role.
The new rugby youth development officer will take up his post during the summer on a full-time basis. His main work will be in primary schools in the Carlisle catchment area.
The club says that many schools have shown a great interest in this initiative and it is looking forward to introducing youngsters to the game, and seeing them progress through the ranks.
Secondary schools are to be targeted too with good reason, for of all schools in this category in the district, there is only one having rugby in their curriculum.
Carlisle RUFC are hoping this initiative will bear fruit in the years to come.
Meanwhile Carlisle has announced that the club chairman David Stout has indicated that he will relinquishing his post and stepping down from the board at the AGM in July.
The club said: “He has been back in town for 11 or so years and has helped the club in various ways during that time, including as coach, and we thank him for his contribution.
“So, we will be looking for a successor, someone who, hopefully, will have a broad business experience, is a good leader, and with a sound rugby background to contribute to the future well-being of Carlisle RFC.”
