A petrolhead from Cumbria had the surprise of a lifetime after scooping a top-of-the-range £55,000 Ford Mustang with £50,000 in the boot thanks to online competitions company BOTB.

Here’s the moment lucky Christian Holmes found out his 80p competition ticket landed him the new wheels and cash as part of the firm’s weekly Dream Car Competition.

A keen fan of the competition, the 46-year-old said he’d played BOTB for two years so was delighted to finally see presenter Christian Williams at his front door.

“It was worth the wait,” he laughed.

“I’ve had all sorts of cars and bikes over the years,” the father-of-two said. “But then when my two children came along I thought it was time to be sensible but now thanks to BOTB I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of a Mustang.”

Christian, who works as a butcher, lives with his partner Michelle and their two children in Kendal.

He said he’d spend the cash paying off some debts and buying equipment for his outside catering business, Three Little Pigs.

“It’s a huge amount of money which will make a massive difference to us,” he said. “I work as a butcher full time and then on the side I run my own business so it’s a busy time. Thank you so much BOTB!”

BOTB hands over the keys to two stunning cars each week as well as the lifestyle prize. Other recent winners have bagged a quad bike, a holiday to the Arctic and £15,000 in cash.

The company, listed on the stock market, was founded by William Hindmarch in 1999 and has given away more than £47 million worth of cars so far.

BOTB presenter Christian Williams said: “I love my job getting to surprise the lucky BOTB winners each week, and being in Cumbria to meet Christian was no different. He’s played for an amazing prize and I’m super excited for him!”
