Workington and Furness are through to the semi-final of the Higson Cup after comfortable victories.
But perhaps the performance of the day came from Wigton who travelled to Millom with only 10 men and came back with a famous victory by 24 runs.
The other quarter final is being played at a later date with tie of the round, Cockermouth v Carlisle on Sunday, June 19.
Making the long trek to Millom Wigton would have taken a total of 217 all out as they only had 10, including a couple of second teamers and two more from the thirds.
But 217 is what they got batting first led by professional Chris Hodgson (71), John Reed (56) and Lewis Little (31). Home pro Primosh Perera took four wickets, and getting him early was a vital blow struck by Wigton when the hosts batted.
They slipped to 27-4 with Elliott Armstrong having Perera well caught at slip by George Johnston.
Millom did rally, though, through Graham Dawson (47), Anthony Foster (36), Paul O’Callaghan (24) and Adam Kelly (23) but a late burst from Little in which he grabbed three wickets saw the hosts bowled-out for 193. Armstrong also bowled well to claim three wickets.
It was a satisfying win for Wigton as they had travelled there in the League last Saturday and lost by 92 runs.
Workington won by seven wickets at Whitehaven after bowling out their hosts for 90 in 30.5 overs.
Whitehaven were in trouble at 15-3 and would have been even deeper in the mire had it not been for a battling 49 from popular sub pro Geeth Kumara.
He hit four fours and three sixes, facing 66 balls but when he was ninth out, caught behind off Regan Jackson, Whitehaven had advanced to 87-9.
Stephen Holliday (10) was the only other batsman to reach double figures while Workington’s most successful bowler Adam Chambers took 5-22.
Workington were in some disarray themselves at 27-3 but an unbroken fourth wicket stand of 64 between professional Lahiru Dilshan (34no) and Chambers (27no) got them comfortably over the line after 24 overs.
Furness beat Dalton by 44 runs to make the semi-final with a sound contribution from sub pro Senuran Muthusamy a South African all-rounder who is professional for Ramsbottom this season.
Muthusamy re-built the Furness innings after they had lost both openers for 23.
He made 61 off 74 balls, hitting seven fours and two sixes, and shared a third wicket stand of 102 with Joe Amison who also made 61 at a more leisurely pace.
There was a quick fire 25 from Liam Curwen down the order and after 45 overs Furness reached 203-6. Lewis Bayman took 3-40 for Dalton, including both the two top scorers.
Dalton made a decent fist of their reply after being 5-2 with Daniel Sharpe (37), Amari Goodridge (30) and Jordan Woodend (23) leading the way.
In the end they were bowled out for 159 in the 42nd over with Muthusamy completing a good match by taking 4-14. There were three wickets each for Wyll Stanway (3-26) and Josh Shaw (3-51).
