Open pups winner Huntsman’s Rebel on the finish with Silver Streak a close second.

The Moore family were celebrating a fine double on Dog Produce day at Potter’s Park.

Reigning senior champion Crazy won the opening senior trail while Ned’s Gain took the prestigious Dog Produce for the successful Cleator Moor kennel.

Jonty Moore, with daughter Evie, son Jake and father-in-law Jack Thompson make-up the team responsible for the double success.

It proved to be an excellent day’s trailing with 129 dogs contesting the five trails, 55 of them in the final race of the day for the open restricted.

Crazy set the ball rolling for the Moore’s when winning the opening senior trail nicely from Graham Reid’s Biff.

The Dog Produce was similar in that Ned’s Gain also won nicely from another Cleator Moor hound, Apache Raider for Lana and Debbie McGee.

Colin Satterthwaite’s Thorn Pop won the senior maiden race coming clear from Joe Simpson’s Shiraz and Tony Jackson’s Kinniside Jacko.

The open pups was a tight affair as Huntsman’s Rebel stayed on well to beat Silver Streak who was closing with every stride.

Roy Laidler’s Kirkhead Rebel came with a lead in the open restricted and maintained that advantage on the long finish to beat David Clifford’s Eden Romina.

Potter’s Park will stage the next two HTA meetings on Wednesday and Friday while the next big date for the diary of the International meeting on Saturday, June 25 at Cleamire.
