Warrington Wolves full-back Luke Broadbent is swapping Workington Town for Whitehaven until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old had been loaned to the Derwent Park club but Wolves have now decided that he will complete the season with neighbours Whitehaven.
Broadbent, whose father Gary used to play for Whitehaven, will be joining Haven at the same time as the Catalans Dragons pair Corentine Le Cam and César Rougé start month-long loans at the LEL Stadium.
Luke will follow his dad into the Haven squad and Broadbent senior is still something of a modern-day legend at the club where he played between 2003 and 2008. In that time he established a record for the most consecutive appearances for the club.
Son Luke has been on the books of Warrington since the age of 16 and is an England youth international and gained valuable Championship experience at Town where the general view was he had done well.
His season was interrupted by an illness which put him in hospital for a short while but he returned to Town fit and raring to go.

Haven director Ashley Kilpatrick said: “I’m chuffed to get Luke over the line and to see him following in his father’s footsteps in playing for the club. He’s a good returner of the ball and talks well out the back having seen him play several times in person and also seen him on video.
“He’s come through a full time environment at Warrington and has Stefan Ratchford and Josh Thewlis in front of him so first team opportunities have been limited. We’d like to thank Gary Chambers, who of course is a Whitehaven lad, and everyone else at Warrington in helping us with this deal and getting it completed.”
Le Cam, 22, is a 6ft 8in French international back rower who made a try-scoring debut versus England in the Test at Stade Gilbert Brutus at the end of 2021.
He made his Super League debut for the Dragons in August 2021 vs St Helens and went on to make four appearances for the French outfit last season and one this season in the by Huddersfield.
Kilpatrick said: “It’s brilliant to have Corentin for the next month. He’s a French international who is highly rated in Perpignan and he is fully expected to play in the World Cup having scored against England last year.
“He’s played a few Super League games, earning man of the match for Catalans against St Helens on his debut. He’s gonna be a big, powerful lad running out wide in the back row for us.”
Rouge (19) is a half-back or hooker who also made his debut off the bench for France in the season ending international against England.
“He has made three appearances for the Dragons in Super League with his sole Super League appearance this term coming in the victory at Warrington. He has also made 11 starts for the St Estève XIII Catalan in the Elite 1 competition with four tries and 15 goals as they finished 5th.
Kilpatrick said: “It’s great to have Cesar for the next month. He’s very highly rated by everyone at Catalans and only young at the age of 19. He can play in the halves or at 9. He’s also a French international again who I expect to see play at the World Cup for them. He’s quick and loves to take the line on.
“We owe a huge thanks to Alex Chan and Catalans Dragons for getting these deals done quickly and professionally.”
