Cumbria will play their NCCA Trophy quarter final with Cambridgeshire on Sunday, July 17.

An abandoned game against Northumberland on Sunday meant Cumbria qualified for the knock out stages, pipping Northumberland by a point.

Cambridgeshire have announced that the game will be played at the Burwell and Exning club which is based at Exning Park, just outside Newmarket.

Last month Cambridgeshire were beaten in the National T20 final by Oxfordshire, who are one of the best all round cricketing teams across the three formats.

Cumbria got a hugely creditable tie at Banbury against Oxfordshire earlier this month and finished behind them in Group One.

Oxfordshire were involved in another thriller on Sunday which could also have finished as a tie but they beat Lincolnshire by one run to reach the quarter-finals.

With one wicket in hand, the visitors needed just two off the final over to win at Aston Rowant CC after Oxon had been bowled out for 211.

Olly Clarke bowled a dot ball to Ben Wright, unbeaten on 61, before removing the Lincolnshire No 5 thanks to Luke Charlesworth’s catch.

Cambridgeshire topped Group Three from Suffolk; Dorset and Wales go through from Group Four while Berkshire and Devon were the qualifiers from Group Two.
