Legendary punk band Buzzcocks are gearing up for a gig in Carlisle on Friday.
The band, who have had a string of top 40 hits including Fast Cars, Harmony in My Head and Ever Fallen In Love (With Someone You Shouldn’t’ve’), will be at the Brickyard.
Pete Shelley and Howard Devoto formed Buzzcocks in Bolton in February 1976. The band, completed by the addition of Steve Diggle and John Maher, opened for the Sex Pistols in Manchester.
Devoto left the following year and the band recruited bassist Steve Garvey, before they split up in 1981.
The band reformed in 1989 for a tour and produced six studio albums.
When Shelley died in 2018, Buzzcocks have continued to play live shows with Steve Diggle taking on vocals. Diggle has sung with the band from the beginning and written 50 of their songs.
He will be joined by the long term current line-up of Danny Farrant (drums) and Chris Remington (bass), performing all the classic Buzzcocks hits and more.
