Two former Whitehaven players who moved to Halifax at the end of last season have signed new deals with the Panthers.
Louis Jouffret, 26, and Lachlan Walmsley, 24, played a big part in helping Whitehaven reach the Championship play-offs last season.
They have also played a part, too, in Halifax moving impressively into third place in the current Championship table and both have agreed new two year deals.
Frenchman Jouffret said: “To be honest, I didn’t really think about going anywhere else.
“I’m just happy here. Things have started to click with Keyesy and Woody and I’m just happy with the way we’re playing, the way I am in the team, and where the team is going. I think we’re going upwards and I’m just happy with it and looking forward to the future.”
Australian Walmsley said: ““It was an easy decision to make. It’s been a welcoming experience coming to this club.
“Obviously, there was 11 new faces when I got here but to have those lads welcome me like they have, it’s been good.
“After signing a deal for another two years, I’m very grateful and excited for what can be made of it. It’s a very professional club so it’s good to be a part of it.”

Next assignment for the pair and their Panthers team-mates is Sunday’s home clash with bottom side Workington Town.
Halifax forward Titus Gwaze has received an eight-match ban following the club’s win over Barrow in the Championship.
The 23-year-old was one of two Panthers players sent from the field in a mass brawl against Barrow live on Premier Sports. He was dismissed for picking up an injured Hakim Miloudi at the Matt Johnson Prestige Stadium.
He was handed a Grade F charge and his side went on to win 43-18 despite being a man down.
He will now be unavailable for Simon Grix’s side until the final match of the regular Championship season.
Barrow’s Miloudi faced the same charges earlier this season against Batley, having picked up an injured opposition player. He also received an eight-match suspension and was fined £250.
Meanwhile, Halifax centre Greg Worthington was guilty of a Grade D charge of punching in the same fixture. The 31-year-old threw punches at France international Miloudi and he received a three-match ban.
