New loan signing Curtis Davies is in the Whitehaven squad for the home game with Featherstone tomorrow.
Davies has joined from neighbours Workington Town after limited game time for the Derwent Park side and will clearly get that with Haven as a specialist hooker.
Whitehaven have suffered with several injuries to key players and the lack of a hooker had seriously affected plans for the season’s run in.
Marcus Walker, a promising centre with Hull FC has returned for the rest of the season and is also included in the squad.
However Fijian recruit Joe Drodrolagi only arrived in the country late yesterday and has not been included in Jonty Gorley’s 21-strong squad.
Dion Aiye was a late withdrawal from the side last week with a shoulder issue but he has been named among the group for tomorrow.
Whitehaven are fourth bottom, five points clear of Dewsbury and seven ahead of Workington, but still believe they need a couple more victories to make themselves safe from relegation.
The Whitehaven squad is: Aiye, Bradley, Broadbent, Cooper, Davies, Dawson, Dixon, Eccleston, Evans, Graham, Holliday, Hudson, King, Martin, McAvoy, Olstrom, Singleton, M. Walkewr, T. Walker, Wilkinson, Williams.
The Featherstone squad is: Briscoe, Leilua, Hall, Gale, Jones, Lockwood, Ferres, Sene-Lefao, Bussey, Wildie, Davies, Moors, Hardcastle, Smith, Cooper, Jacks, Ford, Eseh, Broadbent, Springer, Lineham.
