
Cumbria drew their development game with Northumberland at Furness, after being on top for most of the contest.
Games are played over 110 overs on each of the two days and Northumberland were asked to score 286 from the last 57 overs of the match to win.
When those overs had been completed they were 206-7 with Cumbria’s two Carlisle spinners claiming all the wickets between them.
Johnny Westgarth took 4-26 from 23 overs while club-mate Josh Stirling had 3-53 from 16 but Cumbria were held up by Dave Thorburn (48) and Jack McCarthy (30) in the middle order.
Openers Bobby Green and Benjamin Robinson both scored 40 in a 80-run opening partnership before they perished in successive overs by the spinners.
Earlier, in their second innings, Cumbria skipper Sam Sharp declared on 192-8 with a solid contribution from Carlisle opener James Dawson (48) before there was an unbroken ninth wicket stand of 40 between Workington’s Sam Holt (28no) and Stirling (26no).
