A man has appeared in court accused of engaging in sexual activity with a 13-year-old girl.
Daniel Romanov, 21, faces three charges.
Two of these allege that he engaged in penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13. This is said to have occurred between January 17 and February 11 last year.
A third charge faced by Romanov alleges the illegal possession of 11 indecent photographs of a child during the same time period.
Romanov, of Charles Street, Carlisle, appeared in front of a district judge at the city’s magistrates’ court this morning.
No pleas were entered to any of the charges that he faces.
His case was sent to Carlisle Crown Court, where he is due to appear in front of a judge on August 26.
In the meantime, Romanov was granted conditional bail by the district judge, John Temperley.
