Do you want to go greener and save money by installing solar panels, insulation or an air source heat pump?
Are you worried about the upfront costs?
Cumbrian district councils have secured funding to run the SustainableWarmth Local Authority Delivery Scheme – aiming to install energy saving measures into over 1,300 homes across Cumbria.
If a household income is below £30,000 and the home has a low energy performance, residents could be eligible for a government grant up to £25,000 towards insulation and low carbon heating measures, like heat pumps and solar panels.
The funding grant is even available for private landlords to apply for qualifying tenants.
To make sure the home gets what it needs the SustainableWarmth Cumbria team will carry out a free survey and let them know how they can help.
The scheme offers a range of energy efficiency improvements:
- Solid wall and cavity wall insulation, including insulation for rooms in roofs.
- Loft insulation.
- Air source and ground source heat pumps.
- High Heat retention electric storage heaters and first-time double glazing (replacement double glazing is not available).
- Solar Photo voltaic (PV) Panels.
- Under Floor Insulation.
The grants can be used for low carbon heating and energy saving measures such as air source heat pumps, first time double glazing, Solar PV and different types of insulation.
To be eligible, residents need to:
- Live in their property and either own their own home or, if you they are a private tenant, the SustainableWarmth Cumbria team can work with them and their landlord to make the application and;
- Have a combined household income of less than £30,000 year OR someone in the home receives a means tested benefit and
- Have an EPC rating of E, F, or G. If they don’t have an EPC, then they will arrange this for them if they think that your property is energy inefficient.
The funding also allows private landlords to apply for funding up to £5,000, if their tenants are eligible.
