Two Cumbrian teams have lost a player each to suspension following incidents during the Summer Bash last weekend.
Whitehaven full-back Luke Broadbent was banned for two matches while Barrow’s Jarrod Sammut picked up a one game ban.
Broadbent had made a dangerous throw – lifting a player into a dangerous position – which is a Grade C offence, in the derby game with Workington Town.
Sammut was playing for the Raiders against Widnes Vikings when he was singled out for making a dangerous contact, a Grade B offence.

The offence is defined as when a defender uses any part of their body forcefully to twist, bend or otherwise apply pressure to the limb or limbs of an opposing player in a way that involves an unacceptable risk of injury to that player.
It is expected that both players will be clear to play at the weekend and then start the suspensions.
Whitehaven’s Perry Singleton, on loan until the end of the season from Workington, was also under scrutiny for a possible dangerous throw in the derby game but the disciplinary panel decided there was no charge to answer.
