Three people assaulted a man in Carlisle after getting out of a white van last Saturday morning.
The men confronted the victim, who was on foot, at around 11.45am on Wigton Road next to the junction to Wheatlands.
Three of the men have been described at late 20s early 30s and of large build.
One man was described as having and having black hair and black or khaki shorts. Another was possibly wearing a grey T-shirt.
The injured man was taken to hospital by a member of the public, with injuries not believed to be life-changing.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the assault or who has dashcam footage of the incident or individuals involved.
