Siddick play area has been upgraded thanks to new equipment and a landscaping makeover.
Wooden hurdles have been added to the play area, along with a variety of trees and shrubs, including: rowan, crab apple, cherry, magnolia, hydranger and cotoneasters.
Workington Town Council’s plans to enhance the play area were initially put in place pre-COVID, but restrictions put the council’s estates team on hold.

But now, thanks to the funding from The Wythegill Wind Farm to introduce the additional upgrades the equipment has been installed and landscaping planted.
Catherine Gourlay, Town Clerk for Workington Town Council said: “We are absolutely delighted to be able to finally have the new play equipment and trees planted.
“They really enhance the area and not only give the children something else to play on, but the trees will provide much needed shelter and food for our wildlife. A huge thanks to Wythegill Wind Farm Community Fund for providing funding to allow us to do this.’
