
Velo Club Cumbria’s night-time trials reached a conclusion this week with Luke Johnston setting a searing pace at the Keswick 10 miler.
Johnson covered the flat 10 mile course in good conditions in an excellent time of 20 minutes and 6 seconds at an average speed of 29.85mph.
Johnson was 1:02 ahead of second-placed man David Gleave with Allistair Moffatt in third on a time of 21:18, two seconds clear of Dan Kendall.
The fastest female rider was Rebecca Newark with a time of 25:41.
VCC’s season finishes on Tuesday August 30 with the Whinlatter Hill Climb. Sign on is from 17:30 at Braithwaite Institute.
