Barrow could be bracing themselves for a beat-the-deadline bid for leading scorer Josh Gordon.
With four goals already for the Bluebirds ahead of tonight’s trip to Fleetwood in the EFL Trophy, 27-year-old Gordon is reportedly attracting interest from Championship and League One clubs.
Barrow boss Pete Wild will be hoping to get past the transfer window without losing any members of his squad who have propelled the team into a creditable second place in the table.
But various football websites are suggesting that Gordon, along with former Carlisle United forward Harry McKirdy (Swindon) and Cole Stockton (Morecambe) are the three strikers creating most late interest in the market.
Gordon, who started as a youngster at Stoke, had a shot at the big time when Leicester signed him from Stafford Rangers in 2017 but he left without playing a senior game and largely re-built his career with over 100 games for Walsall.
He has continued to catch the eye since his move to Barrow and Wild will not want to lose him.
Newcastle Town, Nantwich and Rhyl are other non-league clubs on Gordon’s CV as well as Stafford.
