
A woman has been seriously injured in a Carlisle collision.
The 18-year-old, of Carlisle, was a passenger in a black Land Rover Defender, which was involved in the incident at Hardwicke Circus at around 7.55pm on Sunday.
No other vehicle was involved.
The driver of the vehicle was uninjured but police said the passenger was taken to the city’s Cumberland Infirmary with life changing injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, a 18-year-old man from Doncaster, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has been released under investigation.
Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or the vehicle driving prior to the collision to contact police.
