Kendal Town need to find more consistency if they are to climb the North West Counties Premier Division – but that hasn’t been a surprise to chairman Michael O’Neill.
“When you have a young group of players that what you have to accept and inconsistency has been a trademark so far.
“We were sublime 10 days ago in beating Prestwich Heys with 10 men but not as good on Tuesday when we lost 3-1 at home to a well organised Padiham side.
“Our manager showed loyalty to the side which had won a week earlier which meant our new signing Ryan Winder was left out and the experienced Rob Wilson was on the bench.
“But we are more than capable of bouncing back at Lower Breck on Saturday as we have won three of our last five League games,” said O’Neill.
The experienced Winder, 28, is a former Lancaster and Northwich Victoria player with loads of experience at a good non-league level.
Tomorrow the Mintcakes travel to Liverpool to take on Lower Breck who also lost in mid-week, going down 1-0 at Litherland.
They have won four of their nine games so far to sit mid-table, three points better off than Kendal. However last week they scored a 2-0 win over the much vaunted Bury AFC.
