An innovative performance by Propeller celebrating the connection between birds and humans will premiere in Kendal next month.
Flight is the culmination of Jack O’Neill’s time at the town’s Brewery Arts as musician in residence.
Propellor is a 12-piece ensemble and Flight is a collaboration with creatives ranging from Mark Cocker, one of the UK’s leading authors on nature, renowned electronic musician Leafcutter John, and Jenny Reeves, the director of Lancaster’s About Time Dance Company, plus a host of other artists.
Jack, of Kendal, said: “There is a lot going on. It should feel like a gig, but one that gives you loads of really exciting information to take away.”
Alongside the ensemble’s music there will be live visuals, spoken word and powerful contemporary dance.
On September 28, three members of the ensemble will be holding a pay-as-you-decide workshop for children, to create recycled musical instruments inspired by bird and landscape ecology.
The instruments made in the workshop will be included in the October performance.
