Penrith took centre stage on prime time TV as Strictly Come Dancing fans watched presenter Helen Skelton and her professional dance partner Gorka Marquez rehearse at Penrith Parish Centre.
The pair who are are among the favourites to win the popular competition were filmed in Penrith as they practiced their American Smooth.
Their dance wowed the judges and they hit the top of the leaderboard with a score of 26,although were overtaken.
The former Blue Peter presenter Helen hails from the Appleby area where her family still live.
Earlier this week, William Hill said Helen was the favourite to win the series.
