Carlisle United moved to the fringe of the play-off places with a hard-fought 2-1 win at Grimsby Town.
The original game had been abandoned because of a waterlogged pitch and the rearranged contest could have gone either way.
Owen Moxon produced a fine finish with a cracking drive from 25 yards which beat home keeper Max Crocombe convincingly after only seven minutes.
It was the perfect start for the Cumbrians and loanee Jack Stretton forced Crocombe into a decent save to prevent the Blues doubling their lead.
Grimsby midfielder Alex Hunt had his side’s best efforts without seriously troubling Tomas Holy before former Grimsby forward Kristian Dennis did grab Carlisle’s second.
Michee Efete lost the ball and was made to pay as Dennis was well positioned to slot home his eighth goal of the season.
Otis Khan and Harry Clifton were both close for Grimsby before Efete atoned for his error by pulling a goal back for Grimsby after 65 minutes.
Although all the after-match stats favoured Grimsby – convincingly possession and shots at goal – it was Carlisle who went home with the points because of the only stat that really matters – goals in the opposition net.
