A special Masters game is to be played at Derwent Park ahead of the Cumbria v Jamaica clash next Friday.
Arlecdon Rams will be taking on a team selected from other Masters teams throughout Cumbria in a curtain-raiser ahead of the World Cup warm-up.
Players from Maryport, Carlisle and Barrow will make up the County Select side.
The game has been organised in a bid to raise the awareness and profile of the Masters game in the area and the Rams have also sponsored the Cumbria playing kit.
John Gaston, a member of the Rams squad, said: “This is a great opportunity to get our badge out there and for the Rugby League community to see what our game is all about.
“Masters is a game on the rise throughout the country and we’d just like to get as many people involved in this area as possible.
“At the moment we have five active clubs in Cumbria but we’d like to see many more.”
The Masters game could see a number of ex-pros lacing up their boots and gracing the pitch again.
One in particular is William Burns, one of a very small select group to have played for all four professional Cumbrian clubs.

Burns, who will be 52 three days before his Masters appearance, said: “I’m really looking forward to this game and I’m enjoying the experience of Masters rugby as a whole.
“It’s a great way to keep active as we get on in life, with a fantastic set of lads and an awesome social side.”
The Masters game is to kick-off at 5.45pm and organisers are hoping to meet up with anyone after the main game who wants information on how to get started.
Masters Rugby is a fully inclusive version of the game which allows older players (35 is the minimum age) to remain physically active and socially engaged when their competitive playing days are over.
The ethos of the game is friendship and enjoyment with an emphasis on the after-game pint and chat.
Masters Rugby has a key role in providing these opportunities for players to avoid physical and mental health challenges.
Nationally there are over 70 active clubs with thousands of players taking part regularly, including national and regional festivals. Cumbria Masters have a game to end the season on December 3 when they play Yorkshire at Stanningley.
All the Cumbrian clubs will be represented in the squad against a Yorkshire side which will be very strong.
Graeme Gilpin and Ian Johnson will be in charge of the Cumbria team with Nick Borras (Leeds) and Carl Fowler (Hull) looking after Leeds.
Johnson said: “Speaking to Nick and Carl from Yorkshire they are looking forward to a great game which will be played in the way it should be played, in the right spirit.
“Earlier in the season Yorkshire and ourselves, along with Lancashire were involved in a tri-county tournament at Barrow’s Cavendish Park and that was a terrific event.
“This clash with Yorkshire will be the perfect way to end the season – two experienced sides enjoying a last blow-out of the year.”
