
Northside started the defence of the Workington Sunday League President’s Cup with a 5-1 win at Sun Inn Athletic.
The President’s Cup was one of four pieces of silverware they won last season, only missing out on the coveted Sunday County Cup.
Callum Killick (2), Chad Grisdale, Adam Kilgour and Jaden Scott scored the Northside goals. Athletic’s reply came from Daniel Dobson.
The other tie scheduled for Sunday between Deer Orchard and Sun Inn was called off after the vandalism to the home changing rooms.
The rest of the fixtures were all League matches and Blue Bell made it four wins and a 100 per cent record with a 7-1 win at Senhouse Street.
Karl Denver (4) led the way for Blue Bell who sit proudly at the top of the League table.
Adam Chambers, Owen Birkett and Grant Quayle scored the other Blue Bell goals while Leon Wharrier was on target for the home side.
New boys Rangers collected their second win of the season when they scored a 4-2 victory at Flimby Social.
Liam Williamson (2), Jack Rummy and Gareth Brunton earned the points for Rangers with veteran marksman Karl Fillingham scoring both for Flimby Social.
Top game of the day was at Salterbeck where the home side inflicted the first League defeat of the season on Maryport Athletic.
It finished 6-4 with Charlie Shaw (3), Liam Currier, Logan Potter and Dave Watson netting for the hosts.
Joe Hetherington (2) and James Penman were on target for the Athletic who were also helped by an own goal.
Dearham are now one of six teams on six points after they won 5-2 at Seaton Rangers.
Although Craig Morgan and Grant Bell netted for the home side Dearham collected the points with goals from Attlee Skillen (2), Jack Brown, Aaron Lister and Stephen Stoddart.
