A 17-year-old was punched twice in the face in Dalton on Tuesday afternoon, before his attacker ran off.
Police are investigating the incident, which happened in Market Street at around 4.35pm. The victim, from Urswick, was opposite Lloyds Pharmacy and Greggs.
The suspect has been described as a white man, aged between 17 and 18, 5ft 9in and of skinny build with short dark hair and wearing a black top.
He ran off along Market Street towards Bargain Booze.
