Cleator Moor Celtic slipped to a 3-0 defeat at AFC Blackpool last night in what was a familiar story.
The West Cumbrians played well, saw plenty of the ball and created enough chances but couldn’t take them.
Manager Brian Dawson says he is beginning to feel like a broken record saying the same things match after match.
Blackpool took the lead on 14 minutes through Billy Dollin and doubled their advantage after 39 minutes through Jake Gregory. It was Gregory who notched the decisive third goal on 62 minutes after Maguire’s penalty miss.
Dawson told Cumbria Crack: “In truth we played really well but in truth we can’t keep saying this. We had the lion’s share of possession, created lots of opportunities but unfortunately were not clinical enough in front of goal.
“Kieran Maguire missed a penalty after half-time at 2-0 which would have got us back into it.
“We drastically need to improve in both boxes as we have a massive game on Saturday at home to Darwen.”
As things stand, Celtic are third bottom on nine points from 13 games while Darwen are right behind with eight from 12.
