Georgia Stanway’s brother Wyll has made a loan move to NPL West leaders Macclesfield.
Still a Chester player, 21-year-old Stanway has been allowed to switch to the Silkmen until the end of the 2022/23 season.
The south Cumbrian, who has already spent time on loan at FC United of Manchester and Bootle this season, links up with a Silkmen side currently four points clear at the top of the Pitching In NPL West Division.
They are six points clear of Workington Reds with the pair separated by Leek Town.
Stanway started his career at Holker Old Boys before a move to Lancaster City followed, where he kept three clean sheets in five appearances.
Stanway then joined Chester in January 2022 and went on to feature 11 times for the National League North side before the end of the season.
“It’s been a whirlwind few days getting it all sorted but I’m glad to be here now,” he said. “It’s the place to be in non-league football, a club on the up.”
Stanway, who is an excellent cricketer for Furness, who has also played for Cumbria, could make his debut away at Colne on Saturday afternoon.
His sister Georgia is an England international who last week was voted the Cumbria Sports Personality of the Year.
