A Barrow man will appear at crown court charged with child sex offences.
John Ward, 63, of Sutherland Street, was charged following a joint operation involving Cumbria police and the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit.
He faces a number of charges, including:
- Attempting to arrange/facilitate the commission of a child sex offence
- Attempted sexual communication with a child
- Attempt to meet a boy under 16 year of age following grooming
Ward appeared before Furness and District Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
He was remanded in custody until January 3, when his case is due to be heard at Preston Crown Court.
