A late equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Salford City maintained Barrow’s place in the League Two play-off places.
Jordan Stevens thumped home a cracker 11 minutes from time against the 10 men of Salford.
In truth Barrow dominated most of the game and Salford only really threatened once when they had taken the lead.
Barrow were close to grabbing an early lead when home keeper Tom King desperately clawed off the line after a Josh Gordon header appeared to be going in.
Salford’s Elliot Watt was nearest for them when he curled a 25-yard free-kick inches wide of the mark.
It was Salford who took the lead in the 26th minute when Matt Smith used his height well to get on the end of a pinpoint Watt cross and head home.
A minute later Barrow were almost level but Sam Foley’s 30 yarder hit the bar.
Salford had the handicap of being down to ten men after 37 minutes when Callum Hendry was shown a straight red for a dreadful double footed challenge on Tom White.
Salford skipper Ibou Touray was just over the top when he curled a free-kick goal-wards and for the start of the second half Barrow struggled to make their man advantage count.
Gradually they started to dominate and substitute Billy Waters almost found the equaliser with a clever volley which King did well to save.
Stevens grabbed a deserved equaliser 11 minutes from the end when he got onto a loose ball from a corner and thumped his shot beyond King.
It might have been all in vain for right at the death Touray almost won it for Salford but he smashed a shot against the bar.
