Flood alerts – and a flood warning – have been issued for Cumbria as rain continues to fall in the county.

Unsettled weather is expected, says the Met Office, and heavy showers are expected today.

A flood warning is in force for Keswick Campsite. It means that flooding is expected and people should take immediate action.

The Environment Agency said rain has caused the river levels to remain high on the River Greta, River Derwent, Derwentwater lake level.

Areas most at risk include low lying areas bordering the shores of Derwentwater and the frontage of the Keswick Camping and Caravan Club Site.

People are advised to avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.

Flood alerts – where flooding is possible – have been issued for:

Rivers Brathay, Rothay and Winster

River levels are expected to remain high, as is Windermere. No property flooding is expected.

Rivers Duddon, Crake and Mill Beck

Water levels are expected to rise as rain continues.

Rivers Lowther and Eamont

River levels are expected to remain high on the Rivers Lowther and Eamont. Areas most at risk include Rivers Eamont and Lowther to their confluence with the River Eden at Langwathby but no property flooding is expected.

Upper River Derwent, Stonethwaite Beck and Derwentwater

River levels to remain high on the River Greta, River Derwent, Derwentwater lake level. Areas most at risk include low lying areas bordering the shores of Derwentwater and the frontage of the Keswick Camping and Caravan Club Site.

Flood warnings removed

Flood warnings for the Lower River Eden, rivers Ehen, Calder, Irt and Esk and Upper River Aire catchment have been removed.
