Youngsters and potential volunteers are urged to visit Maryport Solway Sea Cadets if they are looking for a new adventure.
The unit is holding an open evening and recruitment event on Tuesday, January 24, between 7pm and 8.30pm.
It will give people the opportunity to see what being a Sea Cadet is all about.
People can tour the unit, chat to volunteers and cadets and see some impressive displays, which aim to encourage more young people and volunteers to join.
Lt (SCC) Claire Bostel, Maryport Solway’s commanding officer, said: “This is a great opportunity for the young people to experience what Maryport Solway Sea Cadets get up to, not only on our parade nights on Tuesday and Friday but throughout the year.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to get to know other young people in the area and you’ll make some great friends and learn new skills that will give you a great head start in life and will really boost your confidence.”
Maryport Solway Sea Cadets has supported thousands of young people in the local community to learn nautical skills, with 24 cadets currently attending, supported by a team of dedicated volunteers
