Kendal Wasps came out on top 35-7 in their latest game against Novocastrians Ladies in Newcastle.
It was yet another game where their opponents probably had more of the ball, but had few chances due to the excellent Wasps defence, and when their chances came, the Kendal side took them.
The Wasps made a flying start by taking the lead after just three minutes.
Tamar Benson made the initial break before Bridget Auty took over and sent full-back Talia Morton-Kemsley on a race to the line for the score. Centre Lydia Fleming added the conversion.
After 20 minutes the visitors scored again from deep inside their own 22.
Following some stern Wasps defence Novocastrians put a kick over the defence which was gathered in front of her own posts by Morton-Kemsley.
What followed was a superb individual effort, breaking a number of attempted tackles, and holding off the chasing defenders to go almost the full length for the try which Fleming converted.

Near the end of the half the Wasps scored a third try after a scrum in their half of the field was disrupted by the home pack.
Cath Sewell was still able to get a pass away and when the ball was shifted to Benson she made ground before finding Morton-Kemsley in support.
She made more ground, before a well-timed pass sent winger India Brennan racing in for the try which Fleming converted.
In the eight minutes of added time, there were further opportunities for the Wasps to increase their lead but the Novos defence held firm.
The home side were first to score in the second half through their fly half who again, as in the first game between the sides, was their best player. The try was converted.
Five minutes later it was Kendal who were on the scoreboard again.

From a scrum near the Novos line, the ball was moved to winger Clare Geldard who raced infield and swept in for the fourth try which Fleming converted.
The final score came when a penalty was put into touch and from the lineout take by Fleur Stanton, the pack drove for the line where Holly Howard broke away to score.
Fleming landed her fifth conversion to round off a successful afternoon with the boot.
The Wasps next game is against Blaydon Red Kites at Mint Bridge on February 12.
