A Lake District hotel’s restaurant has been recognised for its excellence by a prestigious national scheme.
Arboreal, at the Merewood Country House Hotel, has been awarded two AA rosette star status for the sixth year in a row.
Arboreal offers seven-course taster menu and is ambitious, modern cooking. The menu is influenced by head chef Ambrus Kipke’s philosophy of using the best locally sourced, seasonal produce available and letting the ingredients shine.
Merewood Country House Hotel is on the road between Ambleside and Windermere and set on an elevated position overlooking Windermere.
Ambrus said: “Achieving two AA rosette status for the sixth year in a row is validation of what we are striving to achieve. We do all we can to offer the ultimate fine dining experience.”
Robert Timms, hotel manager, added: “This award recognises all the hard work, passion, enthusiasm and dedication of the entire team and we could not be prouder”.
Establishments with two AA Rosettes are all outstanding restaurants achieving standards that demand national recognition well beyond their local area.
