A Carlisle man has been jailed after a theft from a vehicle was reported in Carlisle on Saturday.
Craig Weaver, 43, of John Street, was sentenced yesterday for theft from a vehicle and two counts of vehicle interference.
The incidents occurred on Crummock Street and Girdwood Close, Carlisle.
A police spokesman said: “I hope this sentence provides reassurance to the community that action has been taken swiftly against those targeting personal property.
“Our neighbourhood policing teams continue to be proactive in disrupting this behaviour by conducting patrols, providing crime prevention advice, and targeting those involved in this type of crime.
“The theft of vehicles will not be tolerated and those that engage in these activities face a police investigation and prosecution.”
He received a six-week sentence, however as he was already on license until December 2024 this was revoked.
