Cockermouth beat Egremont 24-6 to consolidate second place in Counties 1 Cumbria and keep in the hunt for promotion.
The champions will be automatically promoted while nationally some of the best runners-up will also earn a step up next season.
Egremont had started the season impressively but have fallen away somewhat in recent weeks and Cockermouth are closest to title favourites Upper Eden, some ten points behind.
For Cockermouth this was a very good home bonus win against an Egremont side who made them work very hard until the final whistle.

It would be the Cockermouth pack who got on top in terms of the set piece and ball carries and the forwards scored score three of the four tries.

Stand-off Ed Gate had started it all, though, when he scored a fine individual try in the corner.
This was soon followed by a fine try from Adam Brough, with the Wasps finding quick ball and great field position. Brough just used his strength to crash over under the posts.
Egremont were able to stay in the game with the home side consistently giving away penalties and two of these were kicked by Taylor Richardson to give the visitors their six points to go in at half-time only 10-6 in arrears.

Some very strong defence from the Wasps in the second half prevented any further score from Egremont and the experienced, hard-working Ryan Hetherington used his muscle and clever footwork to score the next try for the home side.
Captain James Hunter enthusiastically finished off the scoring for the Wasps with the fourth, bonus point try. Gate converted two of them.
