Doncaster Rovers are in good form ahead of tonight’s home clash with Barrow.
They are at the midway point of their hectic schedule of five games in 14 days and are looking for their third win on the bounce which could see them back into the play-off places for the first time since September..
It’s been a change in fortunes because the two wins followed three straight defeats and the second victory, 2-0 over Swindon on Saturday was particularly impressive.
Head coach Ganny Schofield, however, is minded to make changes just to freshen-up the team as he reported some tired legs after the week-end.
“We monitored their fatigue status with Sam Bowring (head of sports science) and Karl Blenkin (physio) to see where they are at, then individualised their programme,” reported Schofield, the former Huddersfield stalwart and ex-Terriers manager.
Barrow beat Doncaster 2-0 in the fixture at Holker Street in September but have managed just one win in their last eight matches.
Schofield told the club website: “They are a really tough opponent. In the games we have analysed and when they’ve suffered quite a heavy scoreline they have still been really competitive.
“It’s like I always say about moments in game being massive. We are going to face a really competitive team.
“It’ll be different to the Swindon game. We might have more possession of the ball at times, so we need to be productive in that sense.”
