Jacob Douglas runs in Whitehaven’s first try (Ben Challis)

Whitehaven’s new loanee winger made a sensational debut in Sunday’s home defeat by London Broncos.

Jacob Douglas scored two fine tries which have both been nominated for Try of the Week on Our League.

Six tries have been put forward for the honour of being the best of the week-end – and four of them involved Whitehaven and Barrow matches.

For as well as the Douglas brace there was another try at the LEL Arena from London’s Paul Ulberg which earned a nomination.

Meanwhile Bayley Liu’s try for Sheffield in their good win at Barrow has also been put forward.

Our loanee from @WiganWarriorsRL Jacob Douglas has both of his tries in Sunday’s clash vs @LondonBroncosRL nominated for try of the week!

Workington Town fans should also take note of one of the nominations too. It was scored by Kallem Rodgers of Ince Rose Bridge in their Challenge Cup win at Wigan St Patrick’s.

Ince Rose Bridge will provide the opposition at Derwent Park in the second round in 10 days’ time.

Barrow and Whitehaven now face Swinton Lions in successive weeks and the final nomination is one of their players, Andy Badrock scoring in a very good win at Batley.

Fans are invited to vote on the OurLeague App.
