Cumbria’s latest export to the Super League, Tee Ritson, marked his official debut for St Helens by tearing over for his first try against Castleford.
The Thailand international had featured in Saints’ 30-18 win over St George Illawarra Dragons a fortnight ago but yesterday was his competitive debut for them in a 24-6 win at Castleford.
Ritson started the game on the wing in place of England international Tommy Makinson who has been stood down through the concussion protocol.
Ritson had a few nice touches in the first half but got on the score-sheet in the second half after being set up by Jonny Lomax.

His celebrations were joyous, clearly delighted to score his first Super League try in front of 2,000 travelling Saints fans.
It’s been a whirlwind few months for Ritson, who made the move to St Helens on loan from Championship side Barrow during the winter after scoring 33 tries in 31 games for the Raiders.
Ritson scored 70 tries in 73 appearances for Barrow across four seasons after first signing professional for Workington Town before a move to Newcastle Thunder.
Under contract at Craven Park, a deal was negotiated to enable him to take the full-time opportunity at St Helens who lost flying winger Regan Grace to rugby union at the end of last season.
