Carlisle-born Steve Borthwick is under pressure already after just four games in charge of the England team.
Humiliated in a record 53-10 defeat by France at Twickenham the England side was booed off the field at the end of a shocking display.
Head coach Borthwick said afterwards: “We’re incredibly disappointed with the performance as France showed us how much better they currently are.
“When you lose the collisions as badly as we did in defence and you lose them in attack then it’s hard to get a foothold inn the game and that was the case here.
“If you get overpowered like that it becomes very difficult to win Test matches. They played very well, we played poorly and it shows just how much work we have to do.”
Borthwick now has to galvanise his squad for the final game of the Six Nations which could be even tougher as they face top of the table Ireland on Saturday in Dublin.
