Story Homes has contributed over £385,000 to Eden as part of tis recent housing developments in the area.
The local housebuilder has recently made payments totalling £385,604, to Cumbria County Council, in line with the Section 106 requirements associated with its Brougham Fields development in Penrith, and its Greystoke Fields development in Greystoke.
The most significant of the payments was £331,349, towards primary school provision; the second and final contribution of this nature to ensure there is capacity to accommodate the additional pupils generated by the Brougham Fields development.
Also related to Brougham Fields was a payment of £31,839, which will be used for the creation of pedestrian crossing improvements to roundabouts within Penrith.
In addition to the above, a payment of £22,416 was made, which is the housebuilder’s second and final contribution towards secondary school transportation, in connection with its Greystoke Fields development.
Together with the first payment, these contributions will provide transport for children who live on Greystoke Fields, to secondary schools in Penrith.
Alongside the delivery of affordable housing, these substantial contributions generated by the Story Homes developments provide a significant source of funding to support infrastructure upgrades and local services that benefit the community.
Adam McNally, Senior Land and Planning Manager at Story Homes said, “Story Homes is committed to delivering high quality new homes in areas where families can safely access the local services and amenities that are available to them. We work hard with our local Councils in ensuring that this is the case.
“The homes that we build are part of wider communities; helping to improve facilities within the local area is very important to us and we recognise the importance of filling any infrastructure gaps. As a Cumbrian-headquartered business it’s fantastic to be able to bring these benefits to Eden residents, adding long term value to the area.”
