Wath Brow Hornets stayed in the National Conference Premier Division title race with a second successive away win.
Following their victory at Siddal the Cumbrians returned home with the points from their trip to Leigh Miners Rangers on the back of a 28-18 success.
It had been tight, with the Hornets 16-12 to the good when Rangers had Matt McGeown red-carded for alleged verbal abuse. That gave Sam Curwen an opportunity to pop over a penalty goal and soon afterwards Fran King went over for a try which Curwen improved.
Although the home side pulled-back six points after 60 minutes with a converted try, Wath Brow sealed the win with a try from Scott Goodwin five minutes from time.
Wath Brow had actually trailed 12-10 at the break but King’s first try soon after the resumption, converted by Curwen gave them the lead which they never lost.
Morgan McCourt and Curwen had scored first-half tries, one of which was converted by Curwen.
Kells were beaten for the second game in a row but their conquerors were the 100% leaders Hunslet Amateurs who look as though they are going to take some stopping.
The visitors won 28-0 after scoring 12 of their points in the first-half through two converted tries.
Kells battled well against tough opposition but couldn’t break through their watertight defence and conceded three more tries in the second-half, two of which were improved. Second row forward Ryan Watson earned most praise for the beaten hosts.
In Division One Egremont Rangers scored a much-needed win when they beat Heworth 18-14. It was a significant victory, too, for the visitors had been lying second in the table when they arrived at Gillfoot.
It was a big finish which did the trick for the Mont as they had trailed 14-6 going into the last quarter.
Quinn Wright and Kris Tyson both got over for Egremont tries, and with Tyson converting both they picked-up two valuable points.
Egremont, who stay fourth bottom, had scored a first-half try through Leon Crellin which was converted by Tyson.
In Division Two Barrow Island suffered a hugely disappointing 40-0 home defeat to Dewsbury Moor Maroons, collapsing in the second-half after the visitors had only led 10-0 at half-time.
The Dewsbury side are now second in the table after scoring five second-half tries which were all converted. The Islanders are now sixth, four points off the pace and having played a game more than everyone else.
Cumbria’s four teams in Division Three were all in action but Ellenborough Rangers were the only winners, beating visitors Bentley 30-10.
Although the visitors got the first points on the board from an unconverted try, Elbra came back to lead 12-4 at the break and built on that in the second-half.
They led 18-10 with ten minutes left to play when tries from Jonty Hill and Zac Olstrum, converted by Owen Hoyles saw then comfortably home.
John Todd (2) and Rhys Burr had scored the earlier tries which Hoyles converted for a five-goal haul.
Seaton Rangers lost a feisty game at home to Eastmoor Dragons 33-22, a result which dropped the Cumbrians to bottom of the table.

Eastmoor had Dec Nicholson sent off on 11 minutes for alleged punching and then both teams picked-up red cards in the 53rd minutes when Liam Williamson (Seaton) and Jordan Oxley (Eastmoor) walked for the same offence.
It was 16-0 at half-time to the visitors and Seaton’s second-half response came from tries by Grant Bethwaite, Brett Symes, Tom Dover and Ellis Nixon with three goals from Brandon Walker.
In a big game at Leigh East the Cumbrian visitors Millom were just edged out 22-20 and the pair are now joint second in the table alongside Ellenborough.
Millom had led 12-0 and despite a fitrst-half fight-back by the home side still led 14-12 at the break.
That changed in the third quarter of the game when Leigh East moved 22-12 in front and although Millom came with a late surge they couldn’t get back on terms.
The Millom tries were scored by Hadley Johnson, Niall Harris and Kyle Evans with Lee Postlethwaite landing four goals.
Hensingham share bottom spot with Bentley and Seaton after they were beaten 22-14 at home by Drighlington.
It had been tight at half-time with the visitors in front 10-6 as Callum Morgan’s try for Hensingham was converted by Noel Branthwaite.
The Drighlington lead was stretched to 22-6 before a late rally from the Cumbrians brought them tries by Josh Burr and Dan McGarry.
